Young Bournemouth film-maker’s produce trilogy of films
White Lantern Film worked with a team of over 30 young people to create three short films exploring their lives in Bournemouth – one of the UK’s most popular tourist destinations. Funded by Media Box and the National Lottery Awards For All, Pier Pressure created three unique films written, produced and directed by young people aged 13 – 19. Throughout the project training and development was a key element providing an opportunity to learn technical and creative skills.
The project, which won the South West Media Innovation Award, premiered in November 2007 to over 1000 guests celebrating the young people’s cinematic achievements. Hosted by the Bournemouth International Centre, the Oscar themed event was attended by the Mayor of Bournemouth and other VIP’s.
The films were supported by ex-Steps singer Lee Latchford-Evans who acted in one of the films and V Bournemouth who supported the management of the project.
