Young people celebrate their cinematic achievements as an exciting film project comes to an explosive conclusion to a capacity crowd.

A capacity sell-out crowd of over 1000 guests and VIP’s will be attending Bournemouth’s very own Oscar star studded film premiere at the Bournemouth International Centre on Saturday 3rd November to see the launch of three local films hosted by ex-Steps singer Lee Latchford Evans.

Attending the premiere along with Big Brother housemate Shabnam, Channel 4 Dumped contestants Sasha Gardner and Aaron Twitchin and the Mayor of Bournemouth will be over 600 local teenagers watching the short films for the first time. The premiere will feature the work of local young film makers who created three short films this summer as part of the governments MEDIA BOX film training initiative. Over 30 homeless and disadvantage young people were taught an array of movie making skills this summer by White Lantern Film and wrote, produced and directed the films themselves. Each film will be broadcast in early 2008 and will be online at www.whitelantern.co.uk/pierpressure and will tour to film festivals starting with the Cannes International Film Festival in May. “This has been an exciting project which has changed the lives of the young people involved” comments Adam J Merrifield, Managing Director of White Lantern Film the organisation behind the project “the commitment and creativity from the young crew surpassed our expectations and the team demonstrated that using media can be both educational, artistic and fun”.

The Oscar-themed premiere includes an awards ceremony hosted by the Mayor of Bournemouth where best movie, best script, best actor and actress, along with many other awards, will be announced. The evening is supported by many local businesses including Fingertap Media, 2020 Nightclub, Jigsaw, Worship Clothing and Lush who are proud to support local young people. The première will end with FIRE 107.6FM DJ’s playing to the capacity sell-out crowd which is set to be the biggest event of the weekend celebrating the talent of local young people.
