White Lantern Film has teamed up with 612 Media to produce a documentary exploring a displaced community within Israel's borders called Only Inhabitants. 2008 will be the 60th year the Bedouin people have lived unrecognised by the Israeli government, with no access to facilities. With intimate access to three generations the documentary will discover the Bedouin culture before it's destroyed.
The documentary will explore the shocking truth about a displaced community within Israel's own borders. The marginalised Bedouin Arab community are slowly being displaced by the Israeli government who are destroying their homeland and their culture. Israel remains as controversial today as when it was conceived. With unique access, ONLY INHABITANTS will explore one aspect of the story which remains untold. The Bedouin people of the Negev region are a community of over 76,000 people who live unrecognised by the Israeli government. With no access to running water, hospitals, mains electricity, access roads or schools the Bedouin are a displaced minority forced to live in villages unrecognised by the government.
