Adam J Merrifield, Producer / MD

Adam J Merrifield established White Lantern Film after producing a range of documentaries, entertainment programmes, and shorts for local, regional and national television.  As the company's Managing Director, Adam has grown White Lantern Film into a diverse business developing a range of creative work for television and theatrical release with a strong focus on drama and documentary.

Producer credits include the ITV period drama Me Reach, ITV documentary The Royal Pier and Burning Flame; and entertainment programmes including Clubbed Up and South Central.  Current factual productions include The House Whisperer, A Tale of Two Mountains and The Secret Soya Story, whilst current feature films include Circumference, Doorman and YesterdaY.

Adam also manages the company’s energetic media education training programme encouraging the next generation of media talent.  Working with the UK Film Council, First Light Movies, Screen South, South West Screen and various National Lottery distributors to produce and manage a range of productions including Millennium Song, Move It and Pier Pressure.

 

Nico Doldinger, Director / Producer

Nico Doldinger recently joined the White lantern film team to Co produce and DP the Russian Fairy tale. Nico has worked on many exciting film sets including Hollywood film Troy.

In 2005 Nico was awarded the ITV Meridian Best Drama award for his film “The Flower man’ , starring the Canadian Lisa Ray (Bollywood Hollywood, Water) which he wrote, directed. Nico recently directed the quirky award-winning short “The Legend of Clipper Dos Santos” as well as the “Heinz Spec Spot ‘Usual Suspects”, expanding his narrative background into the commercial and music video world.

Nico splits his time working in New York, Munich Germany and London. Nico is currently co producing the Documentary film A Russian Fairytale in Perm, Russia.

Rob Brown, Director & Writer

Rob Brown wrote and directed ‘Family Portrait’, a short film about a terrified mother who calls 999 when her estranged husband turns up on their driveway with a gun, which was nominated for the BBC New Filmmakers Awards 2005 and was broadcast on BBC TV in March 2003.

Total Film and Hotdog Magazine both gave favourable reviews of the film.

‘Family Portrait’ later gathered many other awards nominations including the ‘Newcomer’ Award at Soho Shorts 2006 and NPA Short Film Awards before finally being chosen by renowned Film Critic and Broadcaster Mark Kermode as winner of ‘Best Drama’ at the BBC Big Screen Awards 2006.

Rob also won the same BBC award this year for his film Open Skies and had a short film broadcast on BBC3 in December 2007.
